Harvard Public Library, serving an area of 1,000 residents, has a collection of 8,800 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 370 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 330 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.
Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $3,200. Patrons make 1,260 visits annually, and check out materials 1,400 times. Thirty-four percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
