Lewellen Public Library, serving an area of 280 residents, has a collection of 6,300 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 58 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 168 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.
Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $1,380. Patrons make 1,260 visits annually, and check out materials 3,200 times. Thirty-three percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
