Spalding Public Library, serving an area of 540 residents, has a collection of 7,500 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 66 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 189 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.
Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $2,400. Patrons make 2,300 visits annually, and check out materials 4,200 times. Thirty percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
