Talmage Public Library, serving an area of 270 residents, has a collection of 6,000 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 56 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 161 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Staffing consists solely of volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $1,320. Patrons make 1,200 visits annually, and check out materials 3,100 times. Thirty-three percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
