Republican City

Republican City is located in Harlan County between Alma and Franklin along US Hwy 136 and the Republic River, near Harlan County Lake and the Kansas State line.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 199, an increase of 0 since 1990.

Republican City was named for the Republican River. At first the town was called Republican. Soon after the post office was established the name became Republican City.

Republican City is a vacation resort and a sportsmans paradise. Many retirees have summer homes here.
