Trenton is located in Hitchcock County (of which it is the county seat), east of McCook, between McCook and Stratton along US Hwy 34 and the Republican River. This community is also situated on the east side of the Swanson Reservoir State Rec Area.The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 580, a decrease of 76 since 1990. This community is the site of the last Indian battles between the Sioux and Pawnee.
