Wisner

Wisner is located in Cuming County east of Norfolk, between Pilger and Beemer along US Hwy 275 and the Elkhorn River.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,216, a decrease of 37 since 1990.

Settlers were in the vicinity as early as the mid 1850s. Named after S.P. Wisner, a vice president of the railroad company.

Wisner is known as the livestock center of the state. In addition to farming and livestock operations, Wisner offers a variety of recreational and shopping activities.
