Wood River Nebraska

Wood River is located in Hall County southwest of Grand Island, between Alda and Gibbon along US Hwy 30 and the Wood River, near the Platte River (part of the Grand Island Metro Area).

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,275, an increase of 119 since 1990.

After the rails were laid in 1866, a depot and boarding house, called "Wood River Station," was built near Moore's claim.
