Blue Ocean, with offices in
Greenland, educates the public about the Gulf of Maine and provides research information regarding local marine life, particularly endangered marine mammals, and marine pollution gathered while aboard vessels and during their beach cleanups.
This non-profit organization offers presentations to schools, libraries and other organizations regarding marine life. Presentation materials include photos, posters, hands-on materials and/or live animals that demonstrate a variety of subjects, including an introduction to marine life in the Gulf of Maine; whale identification and research; information on tidepool animals and plants; and discussions and hands on materials regarding protecting our oceans.
Their hope is to inspire people to learn more about the marine environment and to help protect it.
