County Bridge

Located between Hancock and Greenfield on the Hancock-Greenfield (Forest) Road, the County Bridge spans the Contoocook River in Hillsborough County with its modified Pratt truss. Originally a Long truss covered bridge was built at this site in 1852, but a flood fatally damaged the bridge in March 1936 and the existing bridge was built as a Federal Emergency Relief Administration project.

Reinforcements and modifications have been made to the bridge since that time.

The County Bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
