Eaton Center is located in Carroll County between Conway and East Madison on Highway 153 near Eaton and Snowville. Eaton Center is one of the villages of Eaton.
Named for Governor Theophilus Eaton of Connecticut, a generous contributor to the funds needed to settle Massachusetts in 1630. He later founded a colony in New Haven, Connecticut, along with John Davenport and David Yale, great grandfather of the founder of Yale University.
With 86 mountain peaks, 9 notches, the White Mountains National Forest, King Pine Ski Area, and the many lakes and rivers of the Lakes Region. Visitors will enjoy fishing, biking, hiking, swimming, canoeing, boating, picnicking, skiing, snowmobiling, and more.
