Hillsborough is located in
Hillsborough County. Hillsborough is comprised of several villages that feature Early American architecture, some of which is pre-Revolutionary. Stone arch bridges, built 1830-60 by Scottish stonemasons, are made from locally excavated granite. The town also is the home of the 14th president of the United States, Franklin Pierce.
