This historic house was built in 1806 by Abel Blake, one of the first permanent settlers of Upper Ashuelot. The house later passed to Horatio Colony, grandson and namesake of Keene's first mayor. Colony had a flair for the unusual, mixing heirlooms with souvenirs of his world travels. Ornamental tin ceilings and decorative tiles enhance the decor of the house.
Open Tuesday through Saturday 11am-3pm in summer; Saturday 11am-3pm the rest of the year.
