The Governor's House, built in 1917, is a stately Georgian Colonial that was the home of New Hampshire Governor. All four guest rooms are individually furnished. Room amenities include a queen-size bed and private bath, each uniquely decorated with hand-painted tile, cable TV with DVD, Bose wave radio/CD, telephone with voicemail, high-speed, wireless internet access, air conditioner and ceiling fan. The house has a library with an eclectic selection of books, magazines and newspapers. Bikes are available, complimentary, for touring downtown Portsmouth and beyond. Breakfast is served in the dining room by a roaring fire, on the sunny porch, in rooms or at the courtside patio. Area attractions include Strawbery Banke, Prescott Park, The Seacoast Repertory Theater and Portsmouth Harbor.
