Hinsdale Public Library, serving an area of 4,000 residents, has a collection of 20,000 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 30 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.
Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $4,800. Patrons make 2,700 visits annually, and check out materials 8,400 times. Thirty-five percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
