Milan Public Library, serving an area of 1,320 residents, has a collection of 7,800 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 18 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 96 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $2,300. Patrons make 1,400 visits annually, and check out materials 1,320 times. Twenty-seven percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
