Union Village Library, serving an area of 4,200 residents, has a collection of 5,000 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 32 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $2,000. Patrons make 520 visits annually, and check out materials 1,380 times. Fourteen percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
