Shedd-Porter Memorial Library

Shedd-Porter Memorial Library, serving an area of 1,980 residents, has a collection of 31,000 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 147 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 230 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.

Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $6,600. Patrons make 5,200 visits annually, and check out materials 14,000 times. Sixty-three percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
