Grafton County, and has a collection of 15,400 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 350 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials.
Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $5,800. Patrons make 2,600 visits annually, and check out materials 4,200 times. Sixty-three percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
The Hanover Town Library is on the National Register of Historic Places. Nicknamed the "Etna Library" because of its location and that it has traditionally served both the Etna and Hanover Center communities, the library building was built in 1905 as the official town library.
