Gilmanton Iron Works Library, serving an area of 3,100 residents, has a collection of 4,800 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 5 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials20 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.
Staffing consists solely of volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $1,150. Patrons make 440 visits annually, and check out materials 780 times. Forty-six percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
