A family-owned and operated business since 1972, Windblown Ski Area offers a cross country ski and snowshoe experience not to be found at the mega-ski conglomerates. Here, the pace is slower and the people seem friendlier.
Ski the 25 miles of wooded trails in New Ipswich and take a few moments to enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Monadnock. Or ski the 21-mile Wapack trail, which was created in 1922 by the prior owner of the land.
Their rustic lodge offers a small ski shop while upstairs skiers can lounge on a comfortable couch next to the fireplace and woodstove while eating some homemade soup, big sandwiches, home-baked muffins, cookies, and spiced hot cider. They also rent out a rustic cottage called Warming Hut or, for the serious winter camper, rent one of their two three-sided shelters.
