The main building of the Dowds Country Inn was built in 1780 as a private home. It boasts original trims and doors, along with wide plank floors. All of the 22 rooms have private baths, telephone, modem hookup, and air conditioning. Each displays country art, fluffy homemade quilts and individualized historic stenciling. Each room has a distinctive character and ambience. Breakfast includes muffins, homemade pastries, pancakes, waffles, French toast, bacon and sausage. The property has a natural duck pond, water fountain, flower gardens, old brick smoke house and historic stonewalls. The pond and gardens are natural sites for wedding ceremonies, receptions or meals.
