Zampa Cafe, located in the old Governor Prescott House in
Epping, is owned and occupied by the great grandson of William S. Mason who purchased the mansion in 1903. The restaurant was opened in June 2002 by the name of Zampa, which in Italian means paw. A dog's paw print was found inside the Governor Prescott House, preserved in a brick, its meaning is described in a September 21, 1875 article in the Exeter Newsletter. The restaurant's logo is that of a lion, which is the couple's astrological sign.
The Cafe offers traditional and non-traditional Italian dishes, including homemade fetticini with meatballs, duck walnut ravioli, Beef Asado, Antipasto salad, and much more.
