Captain James Lawrence House |
This is the birthplace of the American naval hero of the War of 1812. As commander of the USS Chesapeake when it suffered a beating from the HMS Shannon, the mortally wounded Lawrence issued his famous last command, "Don't give up the ship." The house, refurbished in the early 19th century style of the area, also contains costumes and toys.
