Deerfield is in the northern part of Cumberland County, in the Southern Shore Region. It is located at the junction of State Highway 77 and Route 540. Nearby towns are the county seat of Bridgeton, and Vineland. In the vicinity of Deerfield are the Cohansey River, Parvin State Park, Rainbow Lake, Elmer Lake Wildlife Management Area, and Thundergut Pond Wildlife Management Area.
