This brick and brownstone Georgian house was built in the 1740s by Dirck Dey, the father of the commander of the Bergen County militia, Colonel Theunis Dey. At the owner's invitation, General George Washington used the mansion for his headquarters in 1780. The detached kitchen and the main house display antiques and items from the 18th century. Picnic facilities are available. Call for hours.
