Winding pathways will lead the visitor through the enchanted forest to more than 20 decoratedcottages where scenes from favorite "fairy tales" are portrayed. Peek in and reminisce about the timeless classic stories and nursery rhymes, including Cinderella, The Three Bears, Pinocchio, Peter Pumpkin Eater. Fairy Tale Forest has been entertaining families with young children since 1957 and still offers the same old fashioned relaxed atmosphere in a country storyland setting. The original creator, Paul Woehle Sr., a German immigrant, started Fairy Tale Forest in 1955 at the age of 40. He spent the first 3 years developing the main facade, which makes up the Castle, surrounding walls and the famous Shoe which stands tall in the town of Oak Ridge. All of the storybook cottages were designed and handcrafted by the founder with the help of his two sons.
