The Township of Howell is in Monmouth County, in the Shore Region, and is part of the Monmouth-Ocean, New Jersey metropolitan area. Howell is crossed by I-195 and US 9. About twelve miles due east is the Atlantic Ocean and the Sea Girt Lighthouse. Nearby are Lakewood, Manasquan River, Allaire State Park and Brisbane Child Treatment Center.
