James Fenimore Cooper House |
This is the birthplace of the noted writer, James Fenimore Cooper, author of Leatherstocking Tales. His novels about frontiersmen and Native Americans, The Last of the Mohicans," and The Deerslayer, are among the best known of this series and were written in the period of 1826-41. The 1780 Cooper House has four museum rooms.
