The Township of Manalapan is in
Monmouth County, in the
Shore Region. It is located on State Highway 33 and State Route 527. Nearby are
Monmouth Battlefield State Park and Battleground Country Club.
The name "Manalapan derives from an Indian term variously translated as "edible roots" or "within a covered swamp."
