Englewood Hospital was incorporated in 1888 as a non-profit, non-sectarian voluntary health care facility in a 12 bed wooden building on a three acre tract of land. Providing primary, secondary and tertiary care, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center is an acute care, community teaching hospital. It is the first New Jersey affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine and is a member of the Mount Sinai Health System. The Medical Center holds Magnet Status awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) of the American Nurses Association. This designation signifies national acknowledgement of highest nursing standards. Englewood is one of only 50 hospitals in the US to achieve Magnet status.
