Ocean Grove is a site, established in the 19th century, where the Christian tradition of a camp meeting occurs each summer. A camp meeting is an open air religious revival in woodland or seaside setting that lasts many days. Many similar institu tions have evolved into year round religious retreats and dispensed with the camp meeting, but Ocean Grove continues to hold one each summer, in addition to constant programs such as youth events, family entertainment in the Great Auditorium, Shakespeare Theater, and much more.
