Course architect Eric Bergstol described the process of creating the Pine Barrens Golf Course as "painting by bulldozer," keeping the natural pine trees and native grasses, while pushing around sand; some would say he created a masterpiece. Stretching to 7,112 yards from the back tees, Pine Barrens is truly a test for the good player and has already been used as a qualifying site for the US Open. Yet while the challenge from the back may be too much for many golfers, four additional sets of tees allow players of all abilities to choose the one best suited for maximum enjoyment.
