Founded in 1957, Salem Community College (SCC) is a two-year, public, comprehensive institution of higher education authorized to grant associate degrees (A.A., A.S. and A.A.S.) and certificates in over 40 liberal arts, business, practical nursing and technology programs of study. SCC offers the only scientific glass technology associate degree program in the United States.
The Carney's Point 11-acre campus enjoys its location in a small suburban community, and its nearness to Philadelphia and other metropolitan areas. In 1998, SCC opened The Salem Center in the city of Salem. This Center houses seven classrooms, including two computer laboratories with Internet access and a room with interactive distance-learning capability.
