A remnant of ancient glacial action, Swartswood Lake provides excellent opportunities for water recreation. Summer months find the waters dotted with fishing and sailboats, while a sheltered cove is often filled with swimmers. For the fisherman there is an abundance of large holdover brown trout and walleye. In winter, the park is visited by cross-country skiers, ice boaters and ice skaters. Camping facilities include 70 tent and trailer sites, three group sites (holding a maximum of 20 campers each) and three yurts (each sleeping up to four).
The park is located in northwestern New Jersey, north of I-80 on Hwy. 521.
