Waretown is located in
Ocean County. It is at the junction of US 9 and State Highway 532 at the shores of the
Atlantic Ocean. GardenState Parkway is two miles west. Nearby are Barnegat Beach, Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant,
Barnegat Lighthouse and Sedge Islands Wildlife Management Area at the Barnegat Inlet to the Intercoastal Waterway in Barnegat Bay. Waretown is part of the
Monmouth-Ocean, New Jersey metro area.
