The Dobson House sits at 7,000 feet on a 100 foot hill in a rift valley overlooking the Rio Grande Gorge, near natural hot springs. The house is a 6,000 square foot solar adobe with natural adobe walls and stone floors. It is furnished in southwestern style, and features the owners' contemporary art collection. The house has two suites, spacious for two but able to accommodate four. Each suite has separate sleeping and sitting areas, a bathroom with tiled shower, and a self-contained stove. Synthetics are available for those with allergies. Breakfast which includes juice, fresh fruit, Mexican baked eggs served with chicken apple sausage and Texas pecan biscuits or cornmeal cakes with applewood smoked bacon is served. Area activities include ballooning, cross country and downhill skiing, fishing, hiking, biking, bird watching, climbing, kayaking, and white water rafting.
