Enchanted Circle loops around Wheeler Peak, the highest in New Mexico at 13,161 feet. Visitors will see some of the oldest rocks in the southwest including quartz and feldspar that date back two billion years. Enchanted Circle markers help guide the way. Other stops on the loop include Red River and Questa; the drive passes through mountain vistas and ski areas. Drive north of Angel Fire 4 miles on Nm434 (from town) to US64 to begin the 85-mile US Forest Scenic Byway.
