Farmington is in San Juan County, and in the Northwest New Mexico region. You can find Farmington north of Gallup between Shiprock and Aztec along US Highway 64 near the Chico River.

Also within the area are various Anasazi Ruins. Mesa Verde National Monument offers a lood into the "cliff dwelling" era of the Anasazi. Seated on high cliffs, the ruins have been known to give you a majestic feeling as you look over the edge Situated near the Arizona/Utah/Colorado state lines.

Navajo Lake State Park is located just north east of Farmington and is a great place for fishing, boating (trout, bass, blue gill, crappie, northern pike, and salmon), camping and water sports.
