Socorro General Hospital currently operates 15 general acute care beds under the federally designated Critical Access Hospital program. The hospital, constructed in 1984, is located in
Socorro, New Mexico, approximately 80 miles south of
Albuquerque.
Socorro General Hospital offers the following services: AfterCare Health Enhancement Program,
Ambulatory surgery, Day surgery, Emergency, Home health,
Laparoscopic surgery, Medical Obstetrical, Occupational Therapy,
Pediatric, Physical therapy, Prenatal, Speech Language Pathology
and Surgical. Emergency room services are provided by full-time physicians and a nurse practitioner employed by the hospital. The ER was tripled in size and fully remodeled in 2003.
SGH contracts with the State of New Mexico to operate a Maternal & Child Health Program which is the cornerstone of community outreach along with a very active home health agency.
