Milan is in
Cibola County, and in the
Northwest New Mexico region. Milan is located on State Hwy 122, northwest of
Grants.
Milan was named for the family that owned the land it was settled on. It experienced its boom when uranium was discovered in the hills surrounding it. Milan remains an industrial and mining community today.
