The Santa Fe Chamber Orchestra specializes in the music of the 17th and 18th century. Often, the group performs without a conductor in order to establish the spontaneous quality of the music that was typical during that period. In addition, the orc hestra performs music of the 19th and 20th centuries along with commissions.
Pro Musica's Baroque Christmas and Bach Festival Chamber Concerts take place in the historic Loretto Chapel in downtown Santa Fe. The Chapel's "Miraculous Staircase, " warm acoustics, and intimate dimensions join to create an unmatched ambiance for chamber music.
In addition, the annual Santa Fe Bach Festival performed on original instruments has become nationally recognized event with its collaboration wit h the Smithsonian Chamber Players.
