Located at the Tropicana Tiffany Theatre the Folies-Bergere have been around since 1961, making it Las Vegas longest production show. It's modeled after the French spectacular from which it takes its name, and the theme is turn-of-the-century France. The girls dance in hugh headdresses, elaborate costumes and do the famous cancan finale. Amoung the variety of acts are the Cavarettas, a couple who do an interesting gymnastic routine to the song "Lady in Red". The show veers from its French theme for a lengthy "Tribute to American Music" that travels from gospel to rock and roll, with just about every musical fad in between. This show is usually enjoyed most by the older crowd. Shows are nightly, except Thursday, at 7:30 (dinner show) and at 1030. Folies is unique in offering backstage tours. Led by a former showgirl, they cost $ 3.50 and take place Tuesday through Friday at noon and 1:00 p.m., and Saturday at 1:00 & 3:00 p.m.
