This is a very exciting shopping mall designed to resemble an ancient Roman streetscape with immense columns and arches, ornate fountains, sidewalk cafes, large pizzas and lots of classic statuary. Overhead is a painted sky that changes throughout the day from puffy clouds to dramatic sunsets to starry nights. It is really quite beautiful. If you enter from the street you'll come directly to the Festival Fountain, which every hour on the hour features robotic statues of Bacchus, Pluto, Venus and Apollo in the midst of a party. The shops run in prices from very expensive to moderate. There is also a fair sprinkling of restaurants, including Wolfgang Puck's
Spago and
Planet Hollywood. One of the favorites is
Bertolini's.
