Hawthorne Nevada

Hawthorne is located in Mineral County, of which it is the county seat, southeast of Reno between Fallon and Tonopah along US Highway 95 near Walker Lake in the [zsouthe] of the state.

One tradition says the community was named for William Hawthorn, a cattleman; another says it was named for the Hawthorne family of Massachusetts, descendants of author Nathaniel Hawthorne.

Comments: At times traffic seems busy. Some buddies and I spent time in the place earlier this year. Watch out for weather surprises in the PM. The cost of housing sure seem to have gone out of sight since our last visit. This place seems to have more than enough helpful folks in the shops. For some fine exhibits, spend a little time at Mineral County Museum. You won't be disappointed.
