Hot Springs

Natural hot springs occur when water seeps deep into the earth and is heated by volcanic forces. The heat increases the pressure and causes the water to rise back to the surface. Sometimes it returns in the form of a geyser, and more often is simply rises as a hot spring.

Nevada has 312 hot springs, the most hot springs of any state in the US.
