Minden is located in
Douglas County, of which it is the county seat, south of
Carson City between Gardnerville and Incline Village along US Highway 395 near
Lake Tahoe and the California state line.
Minden was established by the H.F. Dangberg Land and Live Stock Company in 1905 to provide terminal facilities for the Virginia and Truckee Railroad.
