The Spur Cross is small, as cattle ranches go - "only" 585 acres - but it has access to 100 square miles of Bureau of Land Management rangeland for its cattle. Its almost stereotypical Western beauty rivals the best movie scenery. From the ranch house, visitors see the Sonoma Mountain Range and Pumpernickel Valley.
If you would like to saddle your own horse, brand calves, drive cattle and do all the other cowboy things, a working ranch is the thing for you. That is exactly what those who come here want. A relatively small ranch - maximum number of guests is about a dozen - the Spur Cross allows you to "play cowboy" by actually working as one. Of course, as a paying guest, you don't have to do anything, but generally most people want to do most things.
