Peekskill

Peekskill is a city located in Westchester County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 22,441. It was named after Jan Peek (or Peeck), a settler who built a trading post here. Peekskill was razed twice by the British during the Revolutionary War, and some of the notable sites from that period can still be identified today. Peekskill received national attention for the crash of a 30-pound meteorite into a car in 1992.
