Angelica is located in Allegany County 75 miles south of Rochester between Belvidere and West Almond along Highway 17 near the Genessee River and in the Western Region of the state.

Founded by Capt. Philip Church; it was named after Angelica Church, mother of the founder and daughter of Gen. Philip Schuyler.

At the center of the village is a small circular park with a gazebo and croquet courts. Croquet has been played here since the 1860s.
